Adaptive Clothing Collaboration
Tuesday night at the Burlington School Committee meeting, BHS art teacher Keith Mistler and his students presented Shannon Conroy, classroom teacher at the BECC, with adaptive coats for her students to wear as the weather turns colder. Mr. Mistler and his students have been working on theses coats since last spring in all aspects of production including research, design, fitting, and sewing. These coats will help alleviate some of the challenges our students who use wheelchairs face with having their coats put on them. For more information on the project, please see Mr. Mistler’s blog: http://bhsmistler.weebly.com/blog/adaptive-clothing-design
We want to give a huge thank you to Mr. Mistler, Kailee Heffler, Amanda Wagreich, Samantha Marchese, Melanie Sunnerberg, Elaine Hovsepian, Taylor LeRoux, Rebecca Aran, and Stephanie DeLeo for their beautiful work. It is wonderful to work in such a collaborative district!
